International Pineapple Corporation Seeks Spreader to Solve Their Needs

Redwood Metal Works goes International!

We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rodolfo in October 2012 at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI.  He was looking for a spreader to spread compost for his Pineapple Corporation Costa Rica Pineapple, at Agricola Industrial La Lydia S.A., in San Carlos, Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Rodolfo had been researching other spreader options for the pineapple corporation for several months.  When researching and comparing spreaders, he discovered that there was no comparison with ours versus theirs!  The “other” spreader was a V-box with 3 augers on the bottom vs. our SB600 box spreader with a live floor (2 web chains). The Artex spreader “is definitely in a league of its own”

Even though the other option was made for poultry or light material, the Artex / Redwood Metal Works Spreader comes standard with a variable floor speed (controlled inside the tractor) and a guillotine tailgate to meter the material coming out the back, making it easier to adjust the spread to the length of your field and to achieve an accurate tonnage per acre.  The guillotine tailgate is really a big deal for many people as they spread different materials and also different size fields, and our gate can be set at varying heights to get the application specific to your needs.

Hands down, our spreaders are durable. Mr. Rodolfo could see that the spreader is designed to run every day of the week and all day long.  It is built bigger but yet 1,000 pounds lighter so between the 550 series floatation tires and less weight our product will create less ground compaction.

The new SB600 spreader has been shipped and on it’s way to Costa Rica this week.
